Mother's Day 2021

On this Mother's Day, Pastor Pender examines society’s ever-changing expectations of what ideal motherhood looks like which can be exhausting—especially to a woman who might feel she’s fighting an uphill battle on her own. The Old Testament books of Ruth and 1 Samuel include two examples that show us that God’s concern and care for mothers extends to all women, not just the ones society deems “ideal.” Motherhood is not a road that’s meant to be walked alone. We as a church have a privilege and a responsibility to come alongside mothers and women who long to be mothers: to encourage, lift up, and offer physical help as needed.
